1. Performance requirements of polypropylene masterbatch

    (2) The pigment used for dispersible masterbatch should have good dispersibility and be evenly dispersed in the masterbatch, and the dispersant used should not reduce the quality of polypropylene fiber. Otherwise, it is impossible to produce high-quality dope-colored fibers, and the operation is also unstable, and it is easy to break or produce abnormal fibers when the fibers are drawn.

    (3) There are many uses for the coloring of luster polypropylene stock solution. Among them, it is used for bed cover base fabrics and knitted fabrics, which require bright colors. Because organic pigments are brighter and brighter, and easy to color, organic pigments should be used for the above-mentioned purposes.

    (4) Light resistance. Some pigments have photosensitivity under the action of light, which can make colored fibers fade and brittle. The light resistance of pigments is basically related to its chemical structure. Therefore, pay attention to the light resistance of pigments when making masterbatches. , When light-fast pigments need to be used, you can consider adding ultraviolet absorbers.

    (5) The pigment used in the stable masterbatch must have excellent stability to the colored polypropylene fiber. It means that the pigment will not react with the fiber when the colored fiber polymer is exposed to heat, light or high temperature for a long time, and new chemical groups are formed to make the polymer performance low. Therefore, the color masterbatch should be made of as pure pigment as possible, free of iron, copper, lead and other salt impurities to ensure the excellent physical properties of the colored polypropylene fiber.

       2. Quality requirements of polypropylene masterbatch

The quality index of masterbatch includes more content. For example, the appearance size is generally 2mm×(3~4)mm, the particle size of the pigment in the masterbatch ≤1 um is more than 90%, the melting point, DF value, MI value, heat and weather resistance characteristics, etc. These indicators are the common concern of masterbatch factories and polypropylene fiber factories.

    (1) Filtration performance Fiber-grade masterbatch uses filtration performance to characterize the quality of the masterbatch. Its value is called DF value is small, and the replacement cycle of filter components during the spinning process is relatively long. Generally, the DF value of polypropylene masterbatch is required.     (2) Melting point polypropylene masterbatch dispersant uses low-molecular-weight polyethylene wax, so its melting point is between 110 and 120 ℃; and pigments generally have a high melting point, which exceeds the spinning temperature of polypropylene, so the masterbatch is in the thermal analysis spectrum. There are two endothermic peaks. However, the melting point of the masterbatch cannot be used to characterize the quality of the masterbatch. Some corporate standards specify that the melting point is 130-160°C.

    (3) Melt flow index (MI value) The MI of polypropylene chips is mainly used to characterize its molecular weight and determine the processing and finished product performance after the chips are made into fibers. The color masterbatch contains pigments, dispersants and low-molecular-weight carriers. Polyethylene wax, so MI cannot be used to express its own molecular weight, and it will vary with different pigments and varieties, so the MI of the masterbatch is not a control indicator for the masterbatch, and can only be used as a reference during spinning. The MI of the masterbatch used for spinning is slightly larger than that of the natural slice, which is beneficial to the mixing of the two with similar particle size. The general requirement is MI value (15~30) g/30min.

    (4) The heat resistance index of the heat resistance masterbatch refers to the color masterbatch and polypropylene fiber chips in a certain ratio at different temperatures, spinning in a cycle of 5-10 minutes, and observe the degree of color change. The color change can be evaluated by contrast evaluation with gray or color sample cards. When the total color difference value ⊿E≤3, the temperature is the heat-resistant temperature of the masterbatch, and the heat resistance is generally required to be 270~300 ℃, the color change is 4 grades.
