Wang Xinzhe, chief economist of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the 2018 World Fiber New Materials Conference held in Hangzhou and the 24th China International Chemical Fiber Conference that China will accelerate the construction of the “Textile Advanced Functional Fiber” Innovation Center and promote high-performance fiber and bio-based fiber. To reach the international advanced level, and encourage enterprises to integrate global resources and build a high-quality chemical fiber raw material base overseas.

China's chemical fiber industry has maintained a healthy development trend, the scale of industry benefits has grown steadily, and structural adjustment has continued to deepen. At present, China is already the world's largest producer and consumer of chemical fiber. The high-performance fiber and marine bio-based fiber represented by carbon fiber have achieved technological breakthroughs, and the fiber new material industry has taken shape. However, China's chemical fiber industry is still facing greater pressure to transform and upgrade, and effectively improving innovation capabilities is the key.

Wang Xinzhe said that the current research and development investment in the chemical fiber industry is seriously inadequate, the technological innovation system has not yet formed, and the proportion of industrial fiber is low. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will accelerate the construction of the “Textile Advanced Functional Fiber” Innovation Center, improve the fiber new material technology innovation alliance, and guide and encourage chemical fiber enterprises to implement intelligent transformation, realize intelligent management from spinning to warehousing, and promote the industrial Internet platform of chemical fiber industry. Construction, continuous optimization of new business models and new formats.

In terms of green manufacturing, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will strengthen the standardized management of the recycled fiber industry, form a green manufacturing system for the chemical fiber industry, and further promote the development and production of functionalized, differentiated, high-performance fiber products.
